Our world is always getting noisier, and too many people underestimate the danger of overdosing on sound. Too much noise not only stresses us out, but it can cause hearing damage -- and noise-induced hearing loss is permanent. While hearing aids are an enormous asset to those who need them, it is a much better idea not to depend on technology to save your hearing down the road. Instead, take action to protect your ears right now. Wear earplugs at work, and try to listen to music at a reasonable volume -- and above all, avoid those sounds which could be instantly damaging to your ears.
