We've got an exciting new feature in the store that we absolutely cannot wait to tell you about.
But first, quickly, let us ask you a question.
What, to you, is the purpose of a business?
Does a business exist to sell products? Is the true purpose of a business simply to make profits, create a brand image, and improve the bottom line...?
No!!
Well, okay, that's part of it -- but all that stuff is just one tiny part of the big picture. Business isn't just about dollars and figures and synergy (we're not 100% sure what that is, but we hear it's a good thing and we're looking into it) -- businesses, the good businesses, are about serving society in a meaningful way by providing people with things that they really, truly have a need for. Customer service -- literally serving customers' needs -- is the key to creating a good business. Period.
This isn't just our personal company philosophy, it's fact.
We at Ear Plug Superstore focus on one goal above all others: we're here to help our customers. It's not about the bottom line. It's about improving lives, and protecting hearing, a life-long commodity upon which no pricetag can ever be placed. We want to help you find the perfect set of earmuffs for your baby, so parents can still go to see their favorite band play live -- safely, and as a family. We want to help you get your grandchild the water protection ear plugs he needs so he can splash around in the pool his friends without damaging his delicate ear tubes. We want to help you find the perfect ear plugs to block out the snoring that keeps you up at night, so you and your spouse can share the same bed in peace, without missing precious sleep.
And the key to helping you solve your problems is understanding them. We need to hear from you. We love to talk to you on the phone, we can't wait to answer your emails, and we listen raptly to your comments on this blog -- but even that is not enough.
And so we've rolled out a new feature in the store: product reviews from you, our customers.
For the first time ever, visitors to the Ear Plug Superstore can now post ratings, comments, reviews, and advice on our store pages for every single product we sell. This is a fabulously exciting moment for us, and hopefully for you, too. Not only do we now have the opportunity to learn even more from you -- what you love, what you hate, what you can't live without, and what you want more of -- but we're also forming a true community in which all of our visitors can actually communicate with each other. You can now share your stories, advice, reviews, thoughts, and feelings with us, with our visitors, friends, and customers, and with the world.
As folks are finding and using our product ratings & reviews feature, you're able to tell us -- and everyone else -- what you think, love, hate, and how you really feel. And as you guys learn from each other's experiences and advice, we learn about you, as individuals, and as a community.
And we couldn't be more excited to hear what you have to say. Because the more we know about you -- about your struggles, your success stories, how one of your ears is bigger than the other (no, seriously, this is a lot more common than you might think), what you like and dislike, and what problems you need help with -- the better we can serve you.
After all, that's what the purpose of a business is: to help people find real solutions to real problems.
And, to borrow the phrase, knowing really is half the battle.
Okay, we'll put the soapbox away now. (It's hard to keep our posts short when we start talking about things we're passionate about!) Anyway, you've heard enough from us, now it's time to hear from each other.
